Sea Urchins (Uni) that are caught in North America are called "red sea urchins". 

Red Sea urchins are large in size and very sweet compared to Japanese Bafun Uni.

Red sea urchin's roe is large in size and has a tasteless impression,

but is actually sweeter than

the popular Bafun Uni.

Generally yellow uni has become popular with its color and size

being considered visually appealing.

However the color and taste does not relate proportionally.

Since 1975 we have been dedicatedto choose only the best sea urchins for our

customers and will continue to deliver only the best.

Have you had Uni in the past where it may have tasted a bit too old? Uni is a delicate product and may change in taste due to shelf life and temperature.

 

Here at Maruhide Marine Product, we will begin the packing process once the order has been received. This will guarantee the freshest uni for our customers and is a concept that we have believed in for over 30 years.

 

This premium Grade Uni can be picked up here at the processing plant or at our pick up location in Gardena when ordered the day before.

 

Due to weather conditions, we can not guranteee that we will have products everyday.

Ensui Uni

Here at the processing plant, freshly cracked uni goes through the cleaning process only to be returned to salt water (Ensui). This salt water is the same salt content as the ocean water. In doing this, we retain the most natural taste of uni. Without using any preservatives or hardening agents, this product is purely natural. The taste would be the same as if you were to crack uni by the shore and eat it right there and then. The sweetness of the uni will melt away in your mouth.

 

This is one product all uni lover's must try.
